During registration for the Conference you can opt for one of the two topical excursions. The relevant sites are very close to the Faculty of Chemistry and they will reveal to you some secrets and marvels hidden to the view of the passers-by.

 

Main Library of the University of Wrocław

 

This modern building has recently become a popular place where researchers and students can spend virtually a whole day exploring the collections of books, journals, newspapers. Our excursion will guide you through this architectural phenomenon and its treasures from the Special Collection: old books, medieval manuscripts, maps, alchemical treatises...

 

Wrocław Centre for Networking and Supercomputing (WCSS)

 

During the conference we offer a tour of the Wrocław Centre for Networking and Supercomputing to gain an insight into one of the most powerful high-performance computing centres in Poland. The tour will enable learning about the operational background of supercomputers used in science, industry, and advanced technologies. We will present the LEM supercomputer, one of the fastest in Europe and included in the TOP500 ranking of the most powerful supercomputers.

The participants will have the opportunity to have first-hand experience with advanced information technology infrastructure and with future-oriented technologies that are shaping contemporary science. The architecture of high-performance systems will be presented during the tour, with particular emphasis on the design of supercomputers, the principles of their operation, and the engineering challenges associated with designing and constructing machines of the highest performance.

The presentation of the ODRA5 quantum computer, based on superconducting technology, will be a key element of the tour.

The tour will include visits to the server rooms and facilities with the LEM and BEM supercomputers, as well as the ODRA5 quantum computer.
